Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the RRB RPF Constable 2024 notification to recruit 4208 vacancies. To perform well in the exam and score high marks, candidates waiting for RRB RPF Constable recruitment must be aware of the comprehensive syllabus and exam format. RRB RPF Constable Syllabus:
The level of Railway RPF Constable the exam will be of 10th/Matric level.
(A) Pattern and Syllabus of CBT:
- (i) Total Duration: 90 minutes and Total Questions: 120
- (ii) Candidates will be awarded 1 mark for each correct answer. No marks will be awarded or deducted for unattempted questions
- (iii) There will be negative marking @ 1/3 marks for each wrong answer.
- (iv) Normalization of marks will be done for CBTs conducted in multiple shifts.
- (v) Minimum passing percentage for eligibility: UR, EWS & OBC-NCL – 35%, SC & ST – 30%
(B) The marks scored in CBT shall be counted for shortlisting of candidates for further stages of this recruitment process.
Syllabus for CBT:
Questions will be of objective type with multiple choice answers and are likely to cover
topics pertaining to the following syllabus
General Awareness :
Questions will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the Environment around him/her and its application to society; to test knowledge of current Events and such matters of everyday observation and experience as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to Indian History, Art and Culture, Geography, Economics, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Sports, General Science, etc.
Arithmetic :
Questions on Number System, Whole Numbers, Decimal & Fractions and relationship between numbers, fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio & Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit & Loss, Discount, Use of Tables & Graphs, Mensuration, Time & Distance, etc.
General Intelligence and Reasoning :
Questions on Analogies, Similarities and Differences, Spatial Visualization, Spatial Orientation, Problem Solving Analysis, Judgement, Decision Making, Visual Memory, Discriminating observation, Relationship concepts, Arithmetical Reasoning, Verbal & Figure classification, Arithmetic number series, Non-verbal series, Coding and Decoding, Statement- Conclusion, Syllogistic reasoning, etc.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement (PMT):
- Candidates selected on the basis of their performance in the CBT will be called for Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Document Verification (DV) to the extent of 10 times the number of vacancies in each category for Male/Female/Ex-Servicemen.
- Ex-Servicemen will be exempted from PET, however, they will have to undergo PMT. In case the required number of candidates from among the candidates selected above do not qualify in PET/PMT, and there is a shortage in any category/group of Male/Female/Ex-Servicemen, additional candidates to the extent of 10 times the shortage will be called for a second round of PET/PMT as per their merit in the CBT.
- There will be a maximum of two rounds of PET/PMT. In case the vacancies for Female and Ex-Servicemen are not filled after the second round of PET/PMT, the vacancies will be filled by Male candidates of the respective category.
- Passing of Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is mandatory and will be on qualifying basis. No marks will be awarded.
- Constable (Exe) Male 1600 meters run in 5 min 45 secs, Long Jump(14ft), High Jump(4ft)
- Constable (Exe) Female 800 meters run in 3 min 40 secs, Long Jump(9ft), High Jump(3ft)
For 1600/800 meters event only one chance will be given. For the remaining events viz., Long Jump and High jump, the candidates will be given up to 2 chances each.
